Founded in 1796, Hacienda Santa Teresa ―the birthplace of illustrious patriots and the wonder of naturalists, such as Alexander von Humboldt― was devastated by the Royalist Army during the War of Independence and also during the War of Federation. Later, thanks to the effort and tenacity of the descendents of Gustav Julius Vollmer and his wife Panchita Ribas, the Hacienda became the cradle of Ron de Venezuela.
Today, this more than 200-year patrimony can be enjoyed by those coming to visit us. Hacienda Santa Teresa is the perfect location for private parties, as well as corporate and sport activities.
Visitors can enjoy the Rum Route (Ruta del Ron®), including old Casa Tovar and the Rum Museum®, the old Bodega Privada®, the Solera Nursery, La Guadalupe ―the place where Simón Bolívar, the Liberator, ratified his historic decree abolishing slavery―, the Torrefactora, where the coffee is roasted, the sugar cane plantations, the magical Cross of Aragua, made up of centennial royal palms (chaguaramos), the bottling plant and the railway station of El Consejo, where time seams to have stopped.
Among other services, Hacienda Santa Teresa offers pony rides, a Rum Tasting Center, the Zafra Gourmet & Ron al fresco restaurant, the bar To-Bar and the shop La Bodega Santa Teresa.
